One thing that you may notice about our program is the potential for personalization. Family Medicine is a diverse specialty. People go into FM for many reasons, but I feel that there is one very important thing to get from it: happiness.

"Wow! Did a Residency Program Director just tell me to be happy?!?" Yes, I did just say that. I don't need to tell you that residency is tough. There are times when you will feel less than happy. But what you get from residency is the knowledge and skills to practice medicine the way you want to. If you have specific interests, residency should encourage you to develop them. That is where you will find your happiness. And that is what will keep you in Family Medicine for a lifetime.
