Now, Carle Foundation Hospital is teaming up with the University of Illinois, Carle Clinic Association physicians, and industry to do something different - called Translational Research. Right now they're investigating things like artificial bone substitutes, tumor imaging and trends in infectious disease. Translational Research is focused on answering a specific challenge. So breakthroughs are expected now. Not years from now.
