The Division of Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgery is staffed by three surgeons certified by the
American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Drs. Sabol and Bailey, along with the oral and maxillofacial surgery
residents, are on call 24 hours a day to treat patients with
traumatic injuries to the face.
The Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery remains at the
forefront of new surgical developments. Many cutting edge clinical
procedures are performed, including:
Diagnosis and treatment of developmental deformities of the
jaws and face (orthognathic surgery)
Diagnosis and treatment of dental disease, including surgical
removal of teeth (erupted and impacted) and preparation of the mouth
for dentures
Treatment of traumatic injuries of the face, including
fractures of the facial bones, teeth and injuries to soft tissue
Treatment of disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)
Facial reconstruction after acquired defects
Removal of mouth tumors (lips, tongue, cheeks, palate and jaws)
Removal of benign and malignant tumors of the face
Implants for dental rehabilitation/reconstruction
Preprosthetic surgery, including ridge (jaw) augmentation,
nerve repositioning and skin grafting
Facial cosmetic surgical procedures
Cleft lip and palate corrective procedures
Laser surgery of the face and mouth
