The Carle Division
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a 1 to 2 week externship position for
dental school students interested in gaining further experience in the specialty.
The internship is designed to introduce the student to the complete
scope of the specialty in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Students are able to observe
in the outpatient clinic, operating room, and emergency room. The extern will
be take call with the residents and participate in the daily care of inpatients
and outpatients. By working closely with the residents and attendings, the student
will gain insight into resident life, our residency program, and the specialty
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Meal tickets, parking, a beeper, and a call room are provided.
