National Joint Commission Accreditation for Carle Foundation
Hospital
Joint Commission accreditation involves evaluating a health care organization's performance
in areas that most affect patient health and safety. These areas are defined in
The Joint Commission standards. By achieving accreditation, a health care organization makes a

Wound Healing Center
Carle Wound Healing Center received the “Center of Excellence Award” For
Outstanding Wound Healing Results from Smith & Nephew, a global medical devices
company. Carle Wound Healing Center received this national recognition
because of its high success rates in healing foot ulcers and highly skilled use
of Dermagraft®, a tissue-engineered living dermal substitute.
Carle Regional Sleep Disorders Center Receives Honorable
Mention
Honorable Mention – ADVANCE Best Sleep Facility of the Year 2004

offers up-to-date news coverage on sleep related topics.
Community Parish Nurse Program Receives National Award
Fred Graham Award for Innovation in Improving Community Health
The Carle Community Parish Nurse Program of the Carle Clinic Association and the
Carle Foundation Hospital, based in Urbana, IL, received the prestigious Fred
Graham Award for Innovation in Improving Community Health from the American
College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) and the Medical Group Management
Association (MGMA). The Fred Graham Award, supported by the Pfizer Medical
Humanities Initiative (PMHI), is the highest recognition given to a medical
group practice that has developed creative and innovative activities and
solutions to advance the effectiveness of health care delivery and improve
community health. The Community Parish Nurse Program received $10,000 to further
the work for which they were recognized.
