Pastoral Care at Carle Foundation Hospital
Pastoral Services/Spiritual Care
Hospital chaplains are present in each area of the hospital Monday through
Friday and are on call throughout the nights and weekends. They are available to
provide comfort, support, and a listening ear in a way that respects your individual
values and choices. Your minister or priest can also be contacted at your
request.
Contacting a Chaplain
If you or your family members wish to speak with a chaplain or have them contact
you, please do one of the following:
- Call the Communications Center at 383-3311 and have a chaplain paged.
- Call the Pastoral Care department directly at 383-3410. (during normal
business hours)
- Ask your nurse.
The main Pastoral Care office is located across from the visitor
elevators on the first floor of the Hospital.
Pastoral Care Department
Our staff includes chaplains Ellen Kinney, Phil McGarvey, Jeff McPike,
Jennifer Rund-Scott and department director, Jim Winjum. Chaplain interns
are available throughout most of the year, as well.
Clinical Pastoral Education
Carle Foundation Hospital is accredited by the Association for Clinical
Pastoral Education (ACPE) and provides clinical internships in hospital
