The Carle Heart Center offers the latest in advanced
surgical procedures and techniques. Carle is the only area hospital offering the
latest generation of life-saving partial artificial hearts - ventricular assist
devices. Carle also offers transmyocardial revascularization (TMR), a
revolutionary procedure for coronary artery disease patients suffering from
severe angina who are not treatable by conventional coronary revascularization
techniques (e.g. bypass surgery and angioplasty).
The Carle Heart Center surgical team performs more than
