College Volunteers

College Volunteers become a vital part of the Carle team as their level of patient contact increases. They select clinical areas that they are interested in pursuing in the future, and then work with the staff and patients within that unit to gain experience specific to that specialty.

What will I do as a College Volunteer?

• Organize patient charts
• Answer patient call lights
• Answer the telephone for nursing staff
• Talk with patients and families
• Assist with patient transport
• Assist with patient ambulation
• Assist with discharging patients
• Additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor
