A Familiar Face Retires
After nearly 24 years
of service, Alice Hatchel is retiring from Carle Clinic.
In April 1984, Alice began working at the multiple
appointment desk in Occupational Medicine. She currently
serves as Occupational Medicine Case Coordinator.
Dr. Sutter commented,
“Alice Hatchel is a special person who gives 100 percent
to her job. She has been an excellent connection between
Occupational Medicine and companies in the community.”
We
wish Alice the best as she retires. She plans to spend
her free time with her grandchildren and on a mission
trip.
WIN
Program – Recruiting for 2008
What
is WIN?
The
Workplace Injury Network (WIN) program is a unique
educational and consultative program for businesses.
Sponsored by Carle Clinic Association, this partnership with
the employer community promotes a safe, healthy and
productive workforce. The WIN program offers a step-by-step
approach for employers with limited time and resources to
develop a customized, comprehensive disability management
program typically affordable only to larger employers. It
is a program designed to help companies identify ways to
protect the overall productivity of the workforce and reduce
the associated costs of absence related to injury/illness
with workers’ compensation and non-occupational disability.
Who is
Eligible?
Any
local employer interested in protecting the overall
productivity of the workforce and reducing the associated
costs of absence related to injury/illness, no matter the
cause. Because of its personalized nature, we limit the
number of companies who participate. Each company is
assessed for its commitment level prior to being accepted
into the program. The program is designed for individuals
within the company who have been designated as persons who
manage and control work disability. This could be an owner,
a human resources representative, safety personnel, workers’
compensation claims coordinator, office manager, risk
manager or other managers.

Carle Addiction Recovery provides
DUI Risk Education
Every April, Alcohol Awareness Month brings attention to
alcohol-related issues, including drunk driving.
In Illinois, anyone arrested for driving under the influence
(DUI) must undergo an alcohol/drug evaluation and complete
at least ten hours of DUI Risk Education. In 2007,
Carle
Addiction Recovery Center (CARC) conducted 97 DUI
evaluations with all 97 patients attending Risk Education.
CARC
provides patients with confidential treatment to help reduce
the probability of repeating the DUI offense. Information
about a patient’s treatment (including patients who are
Carle Clinic employees) is not viewable through Hyperspace
or IC-Chart. CARC staff are the only employees who can view
medical records. For more information or to schedule a
confidential appointment with CARC, call (217) 383-6039. |
